Camping and cabins Kentucky parks

We have lived in Kentucky since 1994 and every year we have visited at least one of the many beautiful parks our state has to offer. Kentucky is a popular vacation destination for many non-Kentuckians because this centrally-located state has so much to offer from mountains to grasslands to lakes. Whether you are looking for water-related activities such as fishing, boating, and swimming or more land-locked activities such as golf, horse back riding, and hiking there is a park in Kentucky that will provide all the activity you want in beautiful surroundings. While there are a variety of national parks in Kentucky, the real vacation destinations are Kentucky's State Resort Parks which offer a range of lodging choices from camping to cabins to lodge rooms plus many other amenities including activities for kids, special programs throughout the year, and great facilities including docks, stables, swimming pools, and golf courses.

Sometimes we visit one of the parks in our area for a day of hiking, swimming, and/or feasting (the resort parks have great restaurants) and plan at least one long weekend a year at a resort park further afield. Sometimes we rent a cabin and sometimes we rent a lodge room. It depends where and when we plan our trip. My employer also uses the state resort parks for work retreats.
